Between 5000 and 7000 people are expected to attend the 5.20am dawn service at Robertson Park, while 10,000 are expected to converge on the park for the 11am civic commemoration.
Services will also be held at the Lone Pine Memorial on Bathurst Road at 8.15am followed by the cemetery and crematorium.
Veterans and their carers will be hosted for breakfast and lunch at the Orange Ex-Services’ Club, while the general public is welcome at the CWA Hall.
The retreat ceremony will be conducted at Robertson Park at 5.45pm, where the flags will be returned to the sub-branch for another year.
Services will also be held across Cabonne’s villages, with Molong, Cumnock, Yeoval and Toogong also holding dawn services.
Orange RSL sub-branch secretary Les McGaw said the day unified people of all ages.
“It feels great getting more schools involved,” Mr McGaw said.
“The older ones aren’t going to be around forever.
“It’s great to see them taking part.”
Mr McGaw said the day was about “commemorating all those who gave their lives to save our country”.
“It’s respecting all those who gave their lives, which includes my dad’s half brother,” he said.
“They’re a great credit to the nation for what they did to save the rest of us.”
Canobolas Zone Rural Fire Service volunteers will be collecting donations for the RSL on the day.
Minister for Racing Paul Toole has reminded licensed venues to observe the rules of two-up during Anzac Day events.
“Two-up is a time-honoured Australian tradition and a great opportunity for revelers to get together at their local pub or club and commemorate the Anzac spirit,” Mr Toole said.
“With large crowds expected at venues across the State, it is important licensees monitor patron alcohol consumption and behaviour on Anzac Day to avoid intoxication and any anti-social behaviour.”
