There is still a long time to go but the first Harris Scarfe signs are in the windows of the old Myer store in Summer Street.

The department store is planning to open in Orange in mid-2018 after the entire site is redeveloped to move from the home of one store into a complex of about 15 shops with Harris Scarfe as the major retailer.

And just the other side of the post office there is more positive news at Bensons cafe.

It was forced to close last year after the building was damaged by fire.

But with the Terminator in the window next to a “We’ll be back” message  they are determined to re-open.

No date yet but it’s a case of ‘watch this space’.
