Life has come full circle for Dr Parry, who spent his childhood in Narrabri and has commenced his role as principal at Kinross Wolaroi School.
“I love Orange and I’m actually pinching myself,” he said.
“It’s a vibrant town, it’s friendly, it’s peaceful and it’s got a wonderful cafe, food and wine culture.
“I’m most honoured and privileged to have the opportunity to serve and to lead this tremendous school.”
Dr Parry said his goal was to offer a holistic education to students and foster life skills.
“My vision for the school is our students are able to discover their potential, to aim high, to have some ambition and to develop great values, morals and ethics,” he said.
“I want to give them all the tools to lead a full and flourishing life.”
Dr Parry said he planned to build the foundation for a school of agriculture and agribusiness with inter-disciplinary programs.
“I think we can be a national leader in providing an outstanding education for our students by developing a program that forms strategic alliances and relationships with industry, with our rural community, with educational providers, where students can participate in tertiary work in the field of agribusiness,” Dr Parry said.
I’m most honoured and privileged to have the opportunity to serve and to lead this tremendous school.
