For the first time, Small Acres entered all of their brews into competition. As well as a trophy for the 2013 Sparkling Perry, there were also best in class with their 2015 Sparkling cider, the 2015 Pomona Ice and 2010 Pommeau.
The awards attracted plenty of competition, with 200 entries from across Australia. Owner James Kendell said winning the trophy for the Sparkling Perry was “awesome”.
After putting in the biggest number of entries, Mr Kendell said he was looking forward to 2017.
“Small Acres Cyder has won multiple awards every year and I think that says a lot about the region we sit in,” he said.
“It also says a lot about our focus on quality and our passion for growing cider variety apples, rather than just using eating apples.
“Other cider companies will win one or two medals but we are consistently winning multiple awards across our extensive range of ciders.”
