It’s part of the Empower Us program, a venture between police, Family and Community Services, the Orange Aboriginal Medical Service, TAFE and Birrang Enterprises. It focuses on providing skills which can be used after learning school.
Cabobolas Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Linda Brabury said young people would learn about the different careers with the police, from forensic services, highway patrol, prosecutions and general duties.
“The participants will have an opportunity to see and be involved in activities carried out by the different sections of the NSWPF, and hear from Indigenous officers who have joined the NSWPF achieving successful and enjoyable careers,” Inspector Bradbury said.
