Shop local for chance to win $6000 shopping spree

Harvey Norman Orange and the Central Western Daily (CWD) are backing local business and urging consumers to keep their money in the city this Christmas.

The CWD will offer a major prize of a $6000 shopping spree at Harvey Norman for this year’s Shop Local and Win promotion.

There will also be four weekly prize draws. To enter all you have to is shop at a participating business to receive a ticket, the ticket needs to be entered in the shop or at the CWD office in Lords Place.

“We like people to shop local, we give a lot of support to the community and they can come to us and shop under one roof for all their household needs,” Harvey Norman’s furniture and bedding franchisee Steve Munro said.

“We employ local people, you’ll see them at the footy field and out and about, they know the area which helps us personalise our service and the products we sell.

“Harvey Norman has been in Orange for 22 years and 17 years in the Homemaker Centre, Orange residents can shop with confidence because of our quality, service and the right price.”

While Orange has a reputation as a cool climate, Mr Munro said barbecues and outdoor furniture were popular items at this time of year.

“Even air-conditioning is a popular product and our computers and accessories are great for Christmas shopping,” Mr Munro said.

“The winners of the $6000 shopping spree could easily outfit their home with the latest and greatest in furniture, bedding, electrical and computers.”

“We believe it’s important to encourage people to shop locally,” CWD editor Tracey Prisk said.

“By shopping in Orange, we help support the people who live and work here and surrounding villages.”

The list of participating businesses include Baby Kingdom, Blooms the Chemist, Canobolas Caravan and Marine, Camera House, Harvey Norman, Molong Pharmacy and the Rural Centre.

The major prize will be drawn on December 21.

The winners of the prize draws will be announced in the CWD’s Classifieds pages.
