ALTHOUGH the NSW government has reversed its position on a greyhound racing ban, NSW opposition leader Luke Foley is hoping to have the repeal brought forward.

Mr Foley said rather than having the ban repealed next year it could take place next month due to a bill he has placed on the agenda for the next sitting of the NSW government.
“I think we should be able to as a parliament repeal the ban in the next sitting week in early November,” Mr Foley said.
“There’s just no need to have a grey hound ban hang there over the heads of people. The community rose up in places like the Central West areas of the state to say this is wrong to treat people like this, I don’t think the government should delay until 2017 to discuss reversing their ban.”
Mr Foley will attend the Fair Go dinner and charity auction at the Orange Function Centre on Thursday.
The event is raising money for the NSW Greyhound Racing Industry Alliance to fight to overturn the greyhound racing ban.
