A six and two fours from big-hitting Chris Tremain helped push his case for higher honors but it was not enough to save Victoria in their Matador Cup one-day clash with NSW on Friday.

Batting at number eight, Tremain, a former Orange representative cricketer, hit 26 off 31 balls before being caught.
It was a handier contribution than his bowling with 0-43 off seven overs.
After returning from the Australian tour of South Africa Tremain will be looking to be selected for Australia over the upcoming summer season.
He will also be looking for solid play for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield.
The Bushrangers next game is on Tuesday when they play Tasmania at the MCG.
It will be a day-night encounter, starting at 2pm, with the pink ball in use.
The Bushrangers lost the Matador Cup semi-final against NSW by 31 runs.
NSW got within four runs of the Victorian total of 242 when the game was called off due to rain.
Nic Maddinson top scored for NSW with 86 while Ed Cowan provided 64. The best of the bowlers was Pat Cummins with 3-46 while John Hazlewood took 2-35.
The game was marred by NSW batsman Daniel Hughes being struck on the helmet by a bouncer from Peter Siddle.
Under the new concussion substitute rule Hughes was substituted out of the game, retiring hurt on 23.
NSW easily won the Matador Cup final in Sydney on Sunday over Queensland.
Spinner Nathan Lyon took 4-10 off 10 overs to lead NSW to a six wicket victory.
