The race, on October 30, is expected to attract 150 athletes ranging from ages of four and 72 years old.
The race, however may become a duathlon due to the lake been to cold to swim in.
It will be advised closer to the weekend but if it is cold, the swimming leg of the race will be replaced with an extra run instead.
Despite, the bad news of the lake, president of OCTC Micheal Lockyer was still excited at news the club will host the State Club Championship for the next three years, starting next year.
“It’s going to be in our backyard…no better opportunity for racing, everyone is really excited about it,” Lockyer said.
You can still compete in the race, if you’re non-member pay $20 on the day and no charge for midgets or junior competitors.
“We welcome all new comers,” he said.
