Orange resident Joan Riley is now the proud owner of a chook tractor (constructed by Canobolas Rural Technology High School students) and two Isa Brown hens provisionally named Celine and Cher.
Ms Riley said she looked forward to having nice fresh eggs on a regular basis.
She also said she has never won anything and she was quite surprised.
In addition to providing eggs, the hens will fertilise Ms Riley’s lawn.
The raffle was run as a part of the Rotary Club of Orange’s Sustainable Living Week.
Funds raised from the raffle went towards primary school science workshops on renewable energy run by CSIRO educators.
For the past few years, the raffle has enabled more than 7000 students to attend the workshops.
