Orange Crime Manager Bruce Grassick said two men entered the licenced premises after 8pm.
“They demanded an employee open the till for cash,” Inspector Grassick said.
One of the men was armed with a firearm. The men were dressed in dark clothing and had their faces covered.
After receiving a small amount of cash, the thieves fled in a 1990 Toyota Camry.
The car was later located near Elephant Park and it is believed the two men entered the park.
Inspector Grassick asked anyone who may have seen people leaving Elephant Park or people in the park to come forward through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or by calling Orange police on 6363 6399.
Inspector Grassick said the robbery was not linked to two other armed robberies in Orange, but police investigations were in the early stages.
