On Saturday at 12pm you can join the Orange Sustainable Building Tour.
]Orange Rotary, ECCO, Banksia Building, GJ Gardner Homes and Future build invite the public to join the free bus at the Orange Civic Centre car park to take a tour of sites where they will see displays and receive information on sustainable building topics, including insulation, solar power, in-slab heating, double glazing and off-grid energy.
At each site there will be building experts available to answer questions on a wide range of sustainable building related issues.
To achieve optimum results in building sustainably home builders need to be thinking about building design and what materials to use.
Consideration also needs to be given to how you will insulate your home, how you will take advantage of natural energy sources and how to heat and cool your home.
Retrofitting or building from scratch, whether through a dedicated program or through step-by-step actions over a prolonged period of time, allows us to take advantage of opportunities to install inclusions that make a home more liveable and cheaper to run.
The Sustainable Building Tour will provide an opportunity for us to get answers from reliable, informed tradespeople passionate about sustainable building.
