Year 8 students Joshua Martin and Zachary Miller worked with year seven students Isabelle Kent and Lilly Mitchell to create a story board and make the film Shut Off, Walk Off, for the Interrelate NSW Film Festival, which had an anti bullying theme.
The students were part of the school’s academically talented program and their class teacher Gemma Lord said the two year seven girls were the youngest participants in the festival, making it especially rewarding to make the finals.
The students focused on cyber bullying, something they had each experienced and used the film to look at the effects it had on victims, how it was becoming more prevalent, the anonymous nature of it and how victims should shut off their devices and walk away if targeted.
Their film can be viewed at www.facebook.com/Interrelate and voting closes on Monday, August 29.
