Playing at CSU Bathurst’s Diggings Oval on Saturday, the Barbarians’ finals loss was also the club’s first appearance in the post season since forming in 2012.
That’s a fact president-prop Paul Rudd was still thrilled about.
And he’s predicting the heart-breaking 26-22 loss to CSU Bathurst will keep the Barbars’ Cup side hungry to improve even further in 2017.
“Although disappointed we haven't gone further I'm still very proud of how far the club has come this season, all the hard work put in by our members and sponsors has really paid off,” Rudd said.
“Hopefully this small taste of semi final football will make our guys hungrier to commit and push harder next season.”
The Barbarians girls also lost, going down 18-16 against Villages.
