Significant AGM
TWO retirements from the executive of the Millthorpe Village Committee mean that this year’s Annual General Meeting and elections take on an extra significance.
Randall Edwards, who has served on the committee as treasurer, will not be recontesting the position this year. Randall has been responsible for far more than keeping the books during his long tenure with securing grants and raising donations.
Your ‘Murmurs’ scribe Laurie Williams will not be recontesting the position of publicity officer after six years. My main contribution has been the production of this weekly column.
We ask Millthorpians who would like to become involved in village life to consider nominating for these two positions at the elections. All positions on the executive, of course, are open for election – president, vice president and secretary as well – and nomination forms are available from the secretary at ian.rogan@bigpond.com.
The AGM in on August 17 at the School of Arts at 6.30pm.
Nursery visit
THE Millthorpe Garden Club will be visiting Paul and Jenny Hancock’s Drayshed Nursery on August 17.
Visitors are very welcome to join, but phone Kerrie on 6365 5150 for catering numbers.
To find the nursery, take the Bathurst Road from Blayney, turn right into Walcom Road, then right again into Kings Plains Road and follow the pink signs.
