The Humpty Dumpty Foundation has donated a rad 7 pulse oximeter for the children’s ward, a MR850 humidifier for the emergency department and a neopuff resuscitation device from their recent Good Egg lunch.
The equipment is valued at $10,790.
Acting pediatric nurse unit manager Kylie Martin said most children require an oximeter during their stay at Orange Hospital.
So the Humpty Dumpty Foundation’s donation of a rad 7 pulse oximeter for the children’s ward – along with a MR850 humidifier for the emergency department and a neopuff resuscitation device – was a life-saving one.
"You can never have enough of them, they’re always handy to have,” Ms Martin said.
“The staff use them all the time because they know they’re accurate and it keeps the patient safe.”
Emergency nursing unit manager Mim Eaton said the availability of the equipment was critical for patients.
“Without this equipment, we couldn’t do our jobs as efficiently as we do,” Ms Eaton said.
Deputy director of nursing Jo Dean said the benefits of the donation went beyond Orange.
“It doesn’t only benefit Orange, it benefits the district,” Ms Dean said.
