Ten Orange Cycle Club juniors headed down to Sutherland for the NSW Country Junior Championships and Southern Cross Junior Open on the weekend.

At the former, Nick Chopping came second and Gydion Dally third in the under-9 boys’ division while Page Squire won gold in the corresponding girls’ event.
In a drama filled under-11 boy’s division Hamish Blair was forced to retire, while Xavier Bland took second in a sprint, Damien Chopping came fifth and Charlie Brown was eighth. In the under-11 girls’, Anja Dally pushed hard to finish towards the back of the pack.
Micah Dibble finished in a bunch and Cennedi Dally rode hard in the under-13 divisions, while Ben Anderson and Luke Tuckwell finished just off the podium in the former division.
In the latter competition, Gydion Dally and Nick Chopping won two seconds and thirds between them and Squire picked up two bronzes.
Bland won the under-11 boys’ road race, Damien Chopping came fifth with Brown and Blair not far back.
The award for grin of the day went to Micah Dibble who busted it out for fourth in a sprint in the under-13 boys’ B grade road race.
