Fresh from placing in the second round of the Southern Star Series in Griffith, Charles McLandsborough, Stephen Roffe and Chris Fealy are primed to perform at their home circuit having shone throughout the early stages of the five-round series, with each round starting Saturday and ending with finals on the Sunday.
Roffe, particularly, proved tough to catch throughout the entire weekend of the Karting Australia endorsed event, with a first place finish in the KA4 Senior heavy class ahead of Scott Rapmund in second.
Fealy wasn't far off the pace either, finishing the round in third place on the overall leaderboard.
In the KA4 Junior Light class McLandsborough was a shining light for the Orange club with a second place finish in the highly competitive junior division.
McLandsborough fended off challenges for his podium place from the likes of fellow Orange Kart Club gun Lachlan Lawson, based in Bathurst, who finished third, all the while challenging Thomas Sargent for top billing.
Orange Kart Club representative Dustin Burns said the contingent of karters who made the trip to Griffith did extremely well in the NSW Country title race.
"The next meeting is in Canberra and these guys I think can do well again," Burns said.
The Orange Kart Club's club meeting begins on Sunday at 9am.
