The new campaign, supported by Fair Trade Australia, invites members of the community to join local activity programs and clubs to boost positive mental health and wellbeing in the region.
The ABC launch will host information stalls from community groups and sporting clubs, as well as community service stalls from organisations such as Fair Trade Australia and CareWest.
ABC senior project officer and Orange campaign leader Victoria Smyth said the launch is aimed to help people understand Act, Belong, Commit.
“The unique thing about this campaign is it takes a whole-of-community approach, bringing together a range of service providers and organisations in the community who can have a real impact on people’s wellbeing.”
“The message in the community is powerful - we all need to act, belong and commit to being more mentally healthy,” she said.
Member for Orange Andrew Gee will open the launch at 3pm following an Indigenous welcome to country.
Ms Smyth is hoping more than 500 people will attend the launch event.
“There will be a focus on activities from 3pm,” she said.
“It's all about having a go.”
The Act, Belong, Commit mental health campaign launch runs from 11am to 5pm on Friday, November 27 at Robertson Park in Orange.
