The contestants, nine men and five women had to do as many pull-ups, push-ups, squats, sit- ups, tricep dips and box jumps as their body could handle in two minutes with the winner having the highest total.
Anytime Fitness manager Megan Griffin won the women’s division and said she was sore the following day.
“I normally am a weights person so I don’t do lots of things for time ... it was quite amazing in a two minute span the way you fatigue about halfway through,” she said.
The men’s division winner was Steve Turnbull with James Douiehi runner-up and the women’s runner-up was Naomi Page.
Miss Griffin said Mr Turnbull did more than 100 squats in two minutes as part of the challenge and she did about 87 squats in the two minutes.
“It was only a small turnout but it was pretty good,” Miss Griffin said.
“I think a lot of people that compete like to do weighted events but we like to cater to everyone and get everyone involved.
“We’ve been doing different competitions for a few years now for local charities and different fundraisers.”
Businesses Pump It Fitness and Pro Meals were also involved with the event and provided meals and protein to participants.
Miss Griffin said about $150 was raised at the event but there will be one rep maximum weight based competition in November that will add to the total with the aim set at $500.
The competitors from both competitions will vote for the charity they want the money to go to.
