The play, to be performed at Orange Civic Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday next week, will feature about 300 students from years 3 to 6.
Written and directed by assistant principal Kerri Parkes, the production is set at Millenium Station’s platform one.
The story follows the security guards managing crowds of people, popular cafe, newsagency and flower stalls catering for travellers waiting for their trains, and the station master who oversees the workers, passengers and the trains’ safe arrivals and departures.
Ms Parkes said she was inspired by upgrades occurring on the metropolitan rail system at the moment.
“It’s a good way to introduce the dance items and tying them all together,” she said.
“Some of the characters may have some resemblance to people I know, so I’ve included some real-life inspiration.”
Each of the classes will perform a dance item choreographed by their teachers and former school students who participated in previous productions. Ms Parkes said the students had been in rehearsal since the end of term one and parents had helped make costumes.
The performances start on September 2 with a matinee at 10.30am and an evening performance at 7pm, followed by a second evening performance on September 3.
Tickets cost $22 for adults and $18 for concession and are available from Ticketek.
