DAVE Chippendale has claimed back-to-back Orange Ex-Services A grade club championships, defeating Matt DeGraaf 7 and 6 at the Country Club on Sunday.

Qualifying number one, then progressing to the final thanks to a first round 8 and 6 victory, before a 3 and 1 win over Gav Hassan in the semi-final, Chippendale overcame the yips to claim a second consecutive match play crown in style.
Ray Jones was the successful golfer out of B grade, recording a 7 and 6 victory over Dennis Treacy in the final, while in C grade Ian Johnston overcome eighth qualifier Jason Watmore 5 and 4 in the final.
Meanwhile, Wentworth’s A grade club championship final will be an all-Williamson affair after the dynamic brothers took care of business in last Sunday’s semi-finals.
Matt knocked off his division one pennants captain Steve Bray 2up, while Tyler Mendham was Mitch’s victim in the other semi-final courtesy of a 3 and 2 result.
The pair will now square off in next Sunday’s match play final at Wentworth, with Matt hoping to make it back-to-back wins after knocking off Craig Coles in last year’s A grade final.
In A reserve, Nick Bolton and Barry Rhodes will square off in the final after Bolton accounted for Chris Moran 8 and 6 and Rhodes did likewise to Wayne Lavelle 3 and 2.
Wayne Newton scraped through to the B grade final after a thrilling win on the 19th against Geoff White.
Newton will meet Doug Westcott in the final after he accounted for Peter Moad in another thriller, 3 and 2.
Anton Logan will head into the C grade decider as the unbackable favourite after he cruised to an 8 and 6 victory over Fritz Van Der Wal in the semi-final, while Brian Kellett’s progression to Sunday’s decider was a little more reserved courtesy of a 3 and 2 victory over Doug Mill.
