Close to 3500 people enjoyed near-perfect conditions in the Cole Classic swim from Shelley Beach to Manly Beach on Sunday.

The day's nine kilometre event was cancelled due to a large swell after dangerous surf closed beaches along the NSW coast on Saturday, including Manly's North Steyne.
But competitors in the one and two kilometre races had a smooth course closer to shore, swimming in 22 degree water.
Evan Stratton of Seaforth came first in the men's 1km field with a time of 11 minutes 35 seconds. Naomi Scott of Freshwater was the fastest woman over 1km, finishing in12:30.
Alex Clarke of Cronulla won the 2km race in 24:51 while Olivia Adams of Lindfield came first among the women with a time of 26:58.
Race director Rebecca Wilmer said the event had raised more than $109,000 for charities such as the Leukaemia Foundation, The Black Dog Institute and The Kids Cancer Project.
