Club president Frank McRae said the meeting had attracted good fields ahead of next weekend’s $12,240 Banjo Paterson Cup.
Also featuring next week will be the $8160 Jack Honan Memorial Final.
The Jack Honan Memorial’s four heats will run tomorrow to decide next week’s finalists.
“We’ve got eight races and four of them are heats of the Jack Honan Memorial to go into the final the following week in our Carnival of Cups meeting,” McRae explained.
“We’ve got really good fields. Their all full fields except for one race which has nine.”
The first Jack Honan Memorial heat will run at 12.55pm in the Orange Fasteners Pace (1880m), with Steve Turnbull’s Yabba Dabba Do one to watch.
The second heat, the Britt’s Water Solutions Pace (1880m) at 2.43pm, will feature Nathan Hurst’s Tulhurst Harry.
In third head at 3.19pm, the Mullion Produce Pace (1880m), Spring Hill’s Kel Winnell will be hoping Sunscreen finishes up the front after starting from the second row.
The last chance for trainers to qualify for the memorial final will be in the Coates Hire Pace (1880m) at 3.58pm.
In this one, Jason Gaffney’s Blissfully Fake, Steve Turnbull’s The Space Invader and Bernie Hewitt’s Zirconia could battle it out.
“We’ve got really good support from the Orange trainers and Bathurst trainers,” McRae said.
“You’ve got trainers like Steve Turnbull, Nathan Hurst and Bernie Hewitt who have always been great supporters of the Orange meetings and bring some strong horses.
“This will give us a good idea of what sort of form the horses are in ahead of the Banjo Paterson.”
Tomorrow’s first race is scheduled for 12.55pm and the last at 5.18pm.
The paceway is located on Perc Griffith Way and the gates will open at 12pm.
