Candace Dubbelde, of Betula Street, was seen swerving left and right to the opposite side of the road and then back into the gutter at about 12.45am on Friday, November 7.
“To be honest, I’ve had two,” she told police after they pulled her over.
Dubbelde was on her provisional licence at the time and the legal blood-alcohol limit for a P-plate driver is zero.
She did not show up to Orange Local Court on Monday for her sentencing hearing.
Police said they were parked at the traffic lights on the Bathurst Road and William Street intersection when they noticed Dubbelde’s car pull out of a service station.
The 32-year-old woman continued down the road without the car’s lights on.
Police followed her and activated sirens and warning lights.
Dubbelde looked like she was going to pull over for police but then drove the vehicle back on to the road and turned into Byng Street.
She recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.205.
Police facts said she was an alcoholic who was attending counselling group sessions for her drinking problem and she was unemployed.
She told officers she had two drinks, the first at 4.30pm the day before.
The magistrate, Terry Lucas, fined her $2000 in her absence and disqualified her from driving for 12 months.
