Council services committee chair, councillor Ron Gander, said there was a great response to the Cook Park decorations last year the decision was made to put up the lights, on the Summer Street side of the park, again.
“Last year people were stopping in Summer Street and taking photographs,” Cr Gander said.
“There were also many fantastic comments on the park’s Facebook page. “Families out walking in the cool of the evening were stopping to look at the tree.”
Cr Gander said driving or walking around and looking at the Christmas lights was a great way for families to get into the Christmas spirit.
“As well as large coloured-ball decorations, there are lights, which are solar-powered,” he said.
“It will take them a day or two to get charged, but in a couple of days it will be a fantastic spectacle.”
