The wild weather is set to continue with storms on the horizon every afternoon for the next week.
As the clean up of Thursday evening’s storm continued into Friday morning, the Orange SES branch was bracing itself for what is to come.
Operations team leader Amanda Aitken said the Orange crew was called to 12 jobs overnight which was a “fairly standard” number of calls for a summer storm.
However, the state SES headquarters said Orange was among the worst-affected areas, along with Wingecarribee Shire, Bankstown, Parramatta and Nowra.
“They were all trees,” Ms Aitken said.
“One tree fell onto a fence and caused a decent amount of damage.”
Ms Aitken said the Orange crew of up to 30 volunteers were busy preparing for the storms ahead and urged the community to help make their job easier.
Cleaning gutters and downpipes, checking roofs are in good repair, trimming overhanging trees and branches and securing or putting away loose items from yards and balconies can make a big difference to potential damage according to the SES.
According to Weatherzone storms are predicted through until Thursday with up to 20 millimetres of rain predicted on Saturday.
About 6mm of rain was recorded on Thursday.
Ms Aitken said anyone who experiences damage in the upcoming wild weather should call 132500.
