They reckon they’re short of money.
Even John Howard has admitted that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Whoops! So the taxpayers were scammed by the American military machine and now, throwing good money after bad, they’re back in there again.
Bear in mind who sells to taxpayers all the added security apparatus required to deal with the increased terror threat level.
Rupert Murdoch, through his newspapers, campaigned against the Labor government since Kevin Rudd wouldn’t let him take over the Australia Network. What was a brilliantly effective tool of soft diplomacy in south-east Asia has now been outsourced to Rupert Murdoch!
John Cobb thinks the ABC, through its network of local radio stations, is a political voice of the Australian people. To attack the ABC is to attack all Australians and their right to a say in the actions of their government.
Tony Abbott did a deal with Rupert Murdoch. If he backed him as prime minister, Abbott would give Murdoch the contract to be the voice of Australia in south-east Asia.
This must go down as the dirtiest deal in Australian political history.
The conservatives think they’ve got the government of this country sewn up. Standing over the ABC is a part of their agenda.
