Having faced extremely harsh weather conditions, including Sunday’s scorching heatwave, the road has been anything but smooth for Kirrily as she ran through some of the communities most affected by domestic violence in NSW.
On her way to Forbes Kirrily ran through Burren Junction, Wee Waa, Boggabri, Manilla, Tamworth, Spring Ridge, Coolah and Mendooran.
At each stop there were community events to welcome Kirrily, with the collective focus of bringing an end to violence against women.
To continue Kirrily’s good work and to bring the stories of those affected by violence against women to the community, Thirty 3 South Films will produce a documentary of the run, the communities it touched and share the experiences of those that have been involved in programs combating violence against women.
Documentary filmmaker Owen Burns followed Kirrily on her journey to document the challenges, victories and humbling moments to tell an inspiring and empowering story to show that by working together, men and women can make the violence stop.
