The Orange Wine Festival event is set to be filled with food from Kate Jones and her team at Kate Jones @ 119, matched with wines from Monument Vineyard, where women can learn about wine tasting in a relaxed setting.
After a chance meeting on Facebook with The Fabulous Ladies Wine Society, an online group for wine lovers around Australia, Sophie knew one of their tasting events would be perfect for the Orange Wine Festival.
“Half our team are women, so this event is really relevant to us. It’s about getting together with friends and enjoying good wine and food,” she said.
“We are looking at new ways to involve people who do not necessarily go to things like this. We want to appeal to everyone. Everybody deserves a drink.”
When Sophie came to Kate looking for a restaurant to host the event, the restaurant owner jumped on the idea.
“We absolutely don’t proclaim to be up there, we’re not a highbrow restaurant. I like to think that we cater for everyone,” she said.
The five-course dinner begins tomorrow night at 6.30pm and will include lucky door prizes from Sheeradiance and Essential Ingredient.
