A wide selection of items will be available for sale at 560 Cecil Road on Friday and Saturday morning, with all money raised going to supporting disadvantaged children in Orange and overseas.
Half of the funds will go towards supporting Orange High School and Canobolas Rural Technology High School’s youth worker John Jongiger through the Orange Minister’s Fraternal.
“I’m really passionate about seeing children reach their full potential. It’s another chance to support a worthy cause,” garage sale coordinator Robyn Hicks said.
Money will also be sent overseas to support orphanages in Russia, Vietnam and Vanuatu.
Mrs Hicks said the money will help programs set up by volunteers with links to the Orange Christian Ministry Centre who are working directly with disadvantaged children, teaching them life skills and literacy skills.
“We have children’s bikes, chairs, toys, crockery, household items, clothing, DVDs and CDs for sale. There’s a whole range of different knick-knacks,” Mrs Hicks said.
“Prices will range from around 50 cents upwards to about $20 to $30 for the larger items.”
The garage sale is open from 5pm until 8pm on Friday and from 8am to 12pm on Saturday.
