The Rural Fire Service told the CWD five nearby Rural Fire Service brigades responded to the call around 5am this morning.
No chickens died in the fire as they had already been cleared from the shed prior to the fire in preparation for processing.
A Rural Fire Service spokesman said it appears the fire broke out during the cleaning process of the shed which was 8m x 150m in size.
An investigation into the fire is now underway.
