The choir is co-ordinated through the Orange Regional Conservatorium and members recently spent time setting up in various parts of the hospital singing a variety of popular and traditional songs.
The choir is conducted enthusiastically by conservatorium vocal teacher Samantha Bartholomeusz.
However it was a real team effort for the choir’s debut at the hospital when Orange Regional Conservatorium director Donna Riles accompanied the group on guitar with her expert playing skills.
“It’s been great today - we really have had a lovely reception in the hospital and we really hope to do this on a regular basis,” Mrs Riles said.
Traditionally many choirs don’t visit hospitals until the festive season, however in another first for Orange hospital which adds to the amazing collection of artworks throughout the hospital on loan from the Orange Regional Gallery, the benefits for the hospital community are enormous.
Along with the choir and the artworks this makes a visit to Orange hospital so much more pleasant for patients, family and friends and the staff.
If you would like to join the Come Together Choir you don’t have to audition and you will be made to feel very welcome.
