The 28-year-old was charged with possession of prohibited drugs and possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs.
She appeared unrepresented by a solicitor and declined the magistrate, Terry Lucas’ invitation to have the matter adjourned so she could seek legal advice.
“No I just want to get it dealt with,” she said.
Mr Lucas asked her why she had in her possession cannabis and she stood up and said “to smoke”.
He told her he could send her to jail for two years, to which she shrugged.
He then asked her if she was still going to smoke.
“I dunno, more than likely,” she said.
Ms Gander was also honest with police who had executed a search warrant on her Lawson Crescent home when they found two lots of cannabis that weighed about 17 grams combined.
They asked her if she had any drugs in the house and she said yes, and showed them where her bong could be found.
“I was going to use it tonight to smoke the pot you just took, but I can’t do that now,” she told officers.
She was fined $200 for each offence.
