The group, which will have six members participate in the trek, raised the money through a special dinner event on July 12, and donations collected from church members over the past few months.
The trek will begin on Thursday morning when 29 tractors roll off from Borenore in two groups at 7.30am and 8am, travelling through towns and villages on their way to Forbes and Canowindra.
Col Westcott, one of the members of the fellowship group, said he was looking forward to riding in the “fairly modern tractor with airconditioning”.
“To some extent it’s old men reliving their younger days,” Mr Westcott laughed.
“We’ve thoroughly enjoyed it, especially helping out people in need.”
This is the second year the group will participate in the trek. They will join around 100 people to travel the 300 kilometres over three days.
Mr Westcott said the group was still open for donations, and encouraged anyone who wanted to support the cause to contact the church’s parish office on 6362 5788 or Mr Westcott on 6369 0336.
“It’s a great cause, Camp Quality. To be able to support children and their families who are going through some pretty terrible things, it’s wonderful.”
