“I wanted to open somewhere people could go to get fashion-forward items,” Mrs Keevil said.
“So we opened a store that offers top brands at affordable prices.
“The store now operates out of a large space on Ralston Drive, opposite Integra Health Club.
“There’s plenty of space so it’s easy for mums to come in, and there’s a kids’ corner to keep the children occupied.”
Mrs Keevil said while she primarily stocked women’s and children’s wear, there was also a range of men’s clothing.
“At the moment we’re also looking to expand our children’s range,” she said.
The store opens from 11am until 5pm on Thursday and Friday and Saturday from 10am till 3pm.
Mrs Keevil is still operating the couple’s online business offering three-hour express delivery in Orange.
New pet project
MARCH Street Pet Foods has changed ownership, but both the old and new owners have promised the store will continue offering the finest pet food options at great prices.
Peter and Jan Moad have owned the shop for the past 11 years but thanks largely to a looming four-month trip to England next year, decided to sell the business.
Paul Connors and Dianne Williams will take over business, and have spent the past couple of weeks learning the tricks of the trade.
“I’d really love to thank everyone who has helped support this business with patronage over the past 11 years, you’ve all been fantastic,” Mr Moad said.
“I’d also like to welcome along Paul and Dianne. They’re really excited for this venture and they’ve been here the past two weeks and plan on doing things the same way as they’ve been done for the past 11 years.
“Essentially it’ll be the same business but with new owners, and I’d encourage everyone to get right behind them.”
Spotlight on store
SPOTLIGHT will open its first Orange store at the Orange Homemakers Centre on August 21.
The store will offer a range of home decor, manchester, craft and party products, furnishings and sewing supplies.
Spotlight Orange manager Ricky Puata, who previously worked as the dual operations manager at Myer in Orange and Dubbo, said he expected the much-anticipated store to be popular with people of all ages.
“There will be bargains galore and great customer service,” he said.
The store will also offer a custom-design service where people can order made-to measure window coverings including blinds.
Dream children's boutique
AFTER spending 12 months selling items online and visiting local markets, Orange’s Renae Allcorn is realising her dream after opening her shop Piccolo Children’s Boutique in Anson Street.
Ms Allcorn said she opened the store around four weeks ago and while she knows it was a huge risk to open her own business, she’s starting to realise her potential.
“I had been operating online for 12 months while also visiting local markets and I thought there was enough need out there to open my own shop,” she said.
“I know it was taking a big step but the feedback I’ve already had in the past few weeks has been fantastic. I’m absolutely loving it, I won’t look back now.”
