Station manager Nathan Croft said a donation of $1396 from the Midstate Motorcycle Club would enable the service to purchase a new refrigerator.
“We’ve doubled our staff and doubled our workload from an average of 20 jobs a month to 40,” he said.
“This donation will allow us to improve staff facilities by buying a new refrigerator, the old one was getting pretty congested.”
While the helicopter service is state funded, there was no government allocation to upgrade staff facilities, according to Mr Croft.
“This money is greatly appreciated,” he said.
Midstate Motorcycle Club president Denise Gosper said the funds were raised during the organisation’s annual Ironbark Dice Run.
She said the annual event was always used as a fundraiser, with members deciding the helicopter service should be the beneficiary this year.
“They provide a service that I hope we never have to use, but we’re so glad that service is available to everyone,” she said.
Mrs Gosper said the money was raised by member contributions and a donation from the Courthouse Hotel in Narromine.
