Detectives at Bathurst police station are hoping someone in the community will be able to help locate 18-year-old Jordan Wright who was last seen about midnight on Monday in Kelso.
Police said Jordan told his family he had intentions of travelling to Dubbo to visit his mother for a few days.
However Jordan did not arrive at his mother's address and his family is now concerned as there has not been any contact since he left Kelso.
A spokesperson for police said inquiries to date indicate that a person fitting Jordan's description purchased a ticket from Bathurst Railway Station to travel to Dubbo, however police have not been able to confirm if Jordan actually boarded the train or, if he did, if he arrived in Dubbo.
Jordan is described as being of Aboriginal appearance with dark brown complexion, approximately 170 to 180 centimetres tall and weighing between 70 and 80 kilograms.
He is of a medium build with black hair and brown eyes and at the time of going missing he did not have any facial hair.
He was wearing a dark green hoodie similar to the one in the photo provided by police and light blue jeans.
If anyone has any information regarding Jordan's current location or if any person sees Jordan they are requested to contact Bathurst police on (02) 6332 8699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Police said Jordan's family will be grateful for any assistance the community can provide in helping them locate Jordan.
