THEY came in unprecedented numbers on Friday morning for the 2014 Anzac Day dawn service.
Orange residents, numbering around 1,000 and hailed as a record crowd, turned out in the early morning silence of Robertson Park to honour the memory of Anzac.
Following the moving service the Orange Ex-Services Club hosted a breakfast in the coral sea room attended by 300 people - many of whom enjoyed the traditional nip of rum with their tea or coffee, served by members of the Orange Branch of the Returned Services League.
More than 1,000 schoolchildren will be taking part in the March down Summer Street at 10.20am on Friday morning with the commemoration service to start at 11am.
