The kerbside collection will allow householders to get rid of items that are too large to fit inside the weekly bins.
The clean-up is open to all Orange residents who receive the regular waste and recycling collection service.
Orange mayor John Davis said it was important for residents to place their bulky waste in the correct way.
“Please place your bulky waste neatly next to the edge of the kerb and don’t block the footpath,” he said.
“It is also important to separate your metals and batteries from all other bulky waste, and make sure you secure waste items to prevent them being blown away by the wind.
“Each residence’s bulky waste collection will only happen once, and will be collected during the same week as that residence’s yellow-lidded recycling bins.”
If your recycling is collected in Week A, your collection will start on Monday, May 5, but if your recycling is collected in Week B, your collection will start on Monday, May 12.
The collection will happen at any time during that week, so bulky waste needs to be deposited on the Sunday before the pick-up date.
There’s also a limit on the amount of bulky waste collected from any one property.
The limit is two cubic metres of goods, which is no more than a standard level box trailer.
Items must be of a manageable size for two people to lift safely and weigh no more than 30 kilograms, and the items must be no longer than 1.8 metres.
