Last year was another exceptional year for Orange’s sport community and highlighted the diversity of the town’s athletes.
Thirty-eight of Orange’s best athletes were honoured with Australia Day sports awards at Cook Park yesterday. To qualify for the awards they must have represented New South Wales in their chosen discipline.
Mr Keegan outlined a highlight of the awards ceremony was being able to acknowledge the lesser known sports which Orange athletes excel in, like shooting and cross country running.
Siena Boland, Jay Cole (basketball), Nick Flannery (tenpin) and Brock Campbell (boxing) were some of the athletes who accepted awards yesterday.
