Until last week, Orange hadn’t recorded so many hot days in a row.
The long-term maximum average for January is 26.6 degrees but our lowest maximum since January 11 is 31.8.
Weatherzone meteorologist Kim Westcott said Orange has not experienced such a run of hot weather since records began 40 years ago.
"It's unprecedented with temperatures over 31 degrees," she said.
The hottest day over the last eight day period was 34.9 degrees on Thursday.
Ms Westcott said the hot weather will continue until Thursday when the mercury is expected to peak at 23 degrees.
There is not much chance of rain for another few days despite the dry thunderstorms that hit the region during the weekend.
"The best chance of rain is Friday with about 10 to 20 millilitres predicted," she said.
