Recently she said farewell to the most enjoyable part of her life after giving her final line dancing class at the Orange Senior Citizens’ Centre.
“I started line dancing in Orange when it first started back in 1995 and I’ve been doing it ever since,” Mrs Sutton said.
She knows she will miss the class she has taught every Thursday afternoon at the Senior Citizens’ Centre for the last 13 years.
“But I felt the timing was right to retire,” she said.
“And it has been lovely that as a group we have been able to perform at a number of events around Orange.”
She said members of the group were so enthusiastic about their line dancing class they decided to give their group a name and get the T-shirts to match.
“They came up with the name - Simply the Best, and they really are,” she said.
“But I will miss them.”
Mrs Sutton says despite retiring she still looks forward to going to her regular line dancing classes at the Orange City Bowling Club on Monday and Wednesday nights.
“We have about ten people who were part of the original class,” she said.
“It’s more than dancing, which of course is wonderful exercise.
“It is about a social event and I’ve made some really good friends,” she said.
