Balogh had been living and working in Orange when she took out the women’s trap shooting at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
She missed out on the 2008 Beijing Olympic team but is back for London.
The women’s trap will have qualification from 6pm (AEST) today where four squads will shoot three rounds of 25 targets each.
This will give each competitor a score out of 75.
The top six will move into the final, a further 25 targets, scheduled for midnight.
In all stages of the women’s trap, shooters get one shot at each target.
In 2004 Balogh was the first Australian woman to win an Olympic gold medal in shooting.
She shot qualifying rounds of 23, 23 and 20 for a 66 total to be the top qualifier.
In the final she hit 22 out of 25 targets to have a total of 88.
This gave her gold, finishing four targets ahead of Spain’s Maria Quintanal.
Balogh is one of two London competitors who also contested the 2004 Games.
Lithuania’s Daina Gudzineviciute finished 14th at the 2004 Games and will compete in London.
For the London Games, China’s Yingzi Liu posted the top individual qualifying score on 74 to make the Olympics.
