THE Occidental Hotel will close its doors at midnight for at least the next two months in a bid to regain public faith.
Hotel owner John Phillips said the decision to reduce trading hours was a matter of trying to do the right thing.
Mr Phillips said he was worried closing the pub at midnight would mean patrons would simply head to Orange’s other late night trading venues.
"If we don't see a change in alcohol-related crime statistics then we'll have to review our reasons for doing the closure.”
Find out if Orange’s two other late night trading venues will follow suit in tomorrow’s Central Western Daily.
