While numbers were down on organisers' predictions, protesters were vocal as they chanted "No Barry [O'Farrell] No" as they walked down Summer Street.
Public Service Association senior vice president Cassandra Coleman said it was her members who were most affected by these budget cuts, with recent job losses in local organisations including the department of primary industry.
