The car rally beat stiff competition from the In the Pink Ball, and the Orange and District Historical Society’s View Orange event to take out the gong on Australia Day.
In the five years since it started the rally has raised more than $400,000 for the Western Care Lodge.
Last year’s five-day rally raised $90,000.
Mr Davis was thrilled to collect the award on behalf of the 70 to 80 people who go on the rally.
“The majority are from Orange and the money we raise goes to the Western Care Lodge which Orange people don’t need because they’ve got accommodation in Orange,” he said.
“It benefits people from places like Forbes, Broken Hill, and Bourke.
“Everybody has had some kind of dealings with cancer. They are very generous to the words cancer donation’’.”
Mr Davis said organisers were hoping to raise $100,000 with this year’s rally when it sets off on May 3.
