WATER POLO

A SEVEN-GOAL haul to Andreas Britenauser helped Flippers to an 8-4 win over Kinross in their Bathurst Water Polo match on Tuesday.

Britenauser proved difficult to stop up front and he slammed in all but one of his side’s goals in the game.

He scored two goals each in the first, second and last quarters, and a single in the third.

Shaun Neoh bagged Flippers’ other goal in the second period.

Kinross showed plenty of determination during the game and put on plenty of attacking raids.

The Orange students were the better side in the third quarter, with Pete Leckie scoring her second for the game and Alex Mills netting one for the side to win the period 2-1.

Jack Archer was strong at centre-forward for Kinross and Tom Brodie and Nigel Bowers were strong when in possession.

However, Flippers proved too strong, with Tristan Zobel directing play well in attack and defence.

In the first game of the night Pirates downed Stannies 11-1.

Pirates’ experience and size proved too much for the young Stannies side.

Martin Healey bagged four goals for Pirates, while Andrew Morcom (3) and Mick Lesberg (2) also added multiple points to the side’s total.

Brendan Murray scored Stannies’ lone goal, while Jake Mitchell made some great saves as keeper.

In Tuesday’s last game, the Flames downed Marlins 7-1.

The Flames struggled to find the back of the net at times but Matt Forsyth and Harley Dengate managed to score a double each.

Brad Simmons had an excellent game in attack and defence for the Flames, while Hamish Crawford showed plenty of enthusiasm.

Rob Cox played his usual strong game for Marlins, while Greg Oastler was consistent and Murray Cheers saved plenty of shots on goal.
