AN Mulligan and Craig Dickerson took top honours with 56 ¼ net in last week’s two person ambrose.
The team of Dave Chippendale and Quintyn Fisher held down the runner-up spot with 58 ¼ net with Luke Pecoski and Ray Jones earning third place with 59 ¾ net on a countback while Michael and Paul Davis snared the scratch with 60 off the stick.
Long drives on the 12th hole went to Ian Mulligan in A grade, David Harvey in B grade and David Vaughan in C grade.
In the pro ball comp Mark Byrnes went closest to the pin just ahead of Glen Beattie and Karl Youse with Craig Dickerson, Ryan Thornberry, Quintyn Fisher, Michael Davis, Dave Chippendale, Alan Giumelli, Greg Cashen, Luke Pecoski and Ron Simmons also winning golf balls.
Quintyn Fisher won the A grade nearest the pin on the 8th with Rob Goodwin snaring B grade and Mitch Gibson winning C grade, while on the 16th, Greg Cashen took out the A grade with Maurice Naveau picking up the B grade and Jason Neville bagging the C grade.

TOMORROW at the country club, the men will be playing the first round of the club championship medal sponsored by the Orange Ex-Services Club.
This will be combined with the April Monthly medal and is also the first qualifying round for the club championship play-offs. The monthly medal also includes the GEM award, sponsored by Paul and Cathy Davis’ Local Bloke Removals.
Due to the late finish to daylight saving, all tee off times on Saturday only, will be pushed back by 30 minutes so as the first few groups of players will not be teeing off in the dark.
On Sunday, tee off times will be back to normal with players contesting the second round of the club championship medal and although the primary event is the 72 hole event each round will also be treated as a separate 18 hole competition.

PLAYERS are requested to take special note of the conditions of play posted at the starter’s hut and read them carefully. Grades will be different from usual for the four rounds with players also required to circle “yes’ or “no” on their scorecards on Saturday’s round only to indicate their availability for the play-offs.
Players that do not circle “yes” or “no” will be assumed to be unavailable and will be excluded from the draw, no exceptions.

A SHEET is now on the noticeboard announcing the Ex-Services trip to Parkes on June 1, 2008, to contest the Rogue’s Cup. Cost for the day will be $15 which includes golf and lunch and a bus is being arranged to transport players to Parkes however players may arrange their own transport if they wish.
Play commences at 8:30am and will be a four ball best ball medley stableford with ladies most welcome and interested players asked to add their name to the list on the noticeboard so that numbers can be known.

THE regulars’ awards for March have been won by Keith Longmore and Alan Oates.
Each receives a voucher to the value of $25 compliments of the Diggers’ Brasserie in the Orange Ex-Services Club.
Winners are drawn at random from all members that have played in four out of five Saturday competitions in that calendar month.
