BLUE Mountains outfit Springwood are the newcomers to this weekend's AXA Financial Planning Intertown Squash Competition in Orange.
Now in its 27th year, the tournament has evolved with Bathurst Panthers' Dave Fuller in charge of organisation since 1984.
Rylstone are bringing six teams of the 32 side's competing – a huge achievement from a village of less than 1000 people.
Fuller said Rylstone was first enticed the way Springwood has been this year - he just kept asking them to attend.
"It's good to have Springwood in," Fuller said."I get around to a lot of different tournaments and just ask teams if they would like to come.
I wrote a lot of letters before Rylstone came and now they have six teams which is just great."
Sides from Forbes, Bathurst Panthers, Bathurst Squash Centre, Orange, Lithgow, Parkes, Dubbo and Rylstone with compete in the men's sections.
In the ladies sections, Bathurst Panthers, Rylstone, Parkes, Forbes and Orange are represented.
Round-robins will be held on Saturday with the elimination action starting on Sunday.
Orange will represented by George Eleftheriou, Steve Elliott, Mike Keegan and Rodney Ryan in the men and the women's side will be made up of Trish Hodgson, Yvonne Tracey, Sue Hodgson and Rhonda Hannelly.
Men's action will feature A (three teams), B (eight teams), C (10 teams) and D (three teams) grades.
With only three teams in ladies A grade and two in B grade, they will play a combined round-robin. There are three C grade sides.
The tournament started in 1981 and has been in a teams format since 1987.
